Oh Deer. Campaign to prevent Hackney Council killing off Clissold Park's animal enclosures.
How These Cuts Affect The Park What You Can Do!
Continue the campaign

Generations of deer have lived in Clissold
park for over 100 years. They now face
re-homing or potential termination because
of Hackney cuts.

The wildlife in Clissold Park is just one of its
most favoured assets. It would be a real
shame if any of Hackneys youngest people
miss out on contact with these animals within
such an urban environment.

The empty deer goat and aviary enclosures will
not be opened to the public, And one job will
indirectly be lost as a result of these cuts.

If less people visit the park, There is a
greater chance that more cuts will be made.

This is another example of Hackneys
knee jerk reaction to cuts in the borough.
The cuts are scheduled to commence on
April 1st. We need to act now.

At a time when the park is needed more than
ever, other cuts to the park include:-

  • Imminent Closure of Clissold House Cafe
    (24th Dec) Pending its re-tender.
  • Closure of the paddling pool.
  • Closure of the bowling green.

    Sponsorship
We continue to campaign against the cuts to Clissold Park, and to regain integrated main stream funding for the park. To support all the park animals and paddling pool.

Hackney Council is seriously expecting animal welfare to hang in the balance of volunteers rattling buckets. They expect the taxpayer to shell out 36K in donations to keep these valuable community resources

But if you are willing to donate time or money, please contact:-
    mguimari@gw.hackney.gov.uk

    Would you consider sponsoring an
    animal. Could you re-home the
birds in the aviary, Or even a Stag?
Are you a registered Vet, able to
provide free veterinary care? If so,
    Please email me.
